Enforceability of Patent
Definition: The right of the patent owner to bring an infringement suit against a party who, without permission, makes, uses or sells the claimed invention.

Classification
Definition: Patents are classified (organized) in the U.S. by a system using a 3 digit class and a 3 digit subclass to describe every similar grouping of patent art.
Boolean
Definition: The patent search systems use "AND", "OR", and "ANDNOT" as Boolean operators, in combination with parentheses to build nested logical subsets.
Change Of Name
Definition: Sometimes, owners of trademark applications and registrations change their names, even though the actual ownership of the application or registration has not been transferred.
Term of patent
Definition: The maximum number of years that the monopoly rights conferred by the grant of a patent may last.
